Philip K Dick Estate Takes on Google Nexus

Philip K Dick, preeminent 20th century philosopher of all thing futurable, has returned from the land of the Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch [link] to find things the same.. and different:

In addition, Google filed an application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on Friday to trademark the name “Nexus One” for use with a cellphone…. [] …As many bloggers have noted, the name Nexus One seems to be a reference to the cyborgs in the dystopian movie “Blade Runner,” which in turn was based on the novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” by the late Philip K. Dick. Both the film and the book feature a bounty hunter tasked with tracking down several rogue Nexus-6 cyborgs, the sixth generation in the line of Nexus robots. [link]

We’ll have to see if the Bulero’s of the pot minning megacorps win out over the newer and improved chew-z, aka, the google…
